The method in which we provide packages to Amazon Linux 2 is different to the previous release, and the list of updated versions is also different. This is due to the LTS nature of Amazon Linux 2.

More updated versions of some packages will be available in the Amazon Linux Extras repositories. Find more details here - https://aws.amazon.com/amazon-linux-2/faqs/#Amazon_Linux_Extras_Repository

The list of packages will grow over time.
