Migration of AWS Accounts from One Landing Zone account to Another Landing Zone

0

Dear Team, We are in the process of planning the migration of accounts from one landing zone account to another Landing Zone and require a comprehensive understanding of the technical procedure and its potential impact.

The source landing zone accounts are currently managed through AWS Organizations, while the target landing zone accounts are managed through Control Tower.

Having reviewed the information available at https://docs.aws.amazon.com/prescriptive-guidance/latest/patterns/migrate-an-aws-member-account-from-aws-organizations-to-aws-control-tower.html , we seek clarification on its applicability to our specific scenario. Specifically, we are keen to understand the implications for existing services and any potential downtime associated with the movement of accounts from the source to the target landing zone.

We would greatly appreciate detailed guidance on the aforementioned points.

Thank you.

Hi,

This blog will provide you guidance about cross-account resource migration: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/architecture/migrate-resources-between-aws-accounts/

It's a complement to public documentation about resource migration: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/prescriptive-guidance/latest/transitioning-to-multiple-aws-accounts/resource-migration.html

Best,

Didier
