Creating a CloudFront Distribution fails

Why am I getting this error:

Your account must be verified before you can add new CloudFront resources. To verify your account, please contact AWS Support (https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/home#/) and include this error message.

Hello.

As the error message says, I think you need to open a case with AWS Support under "Account and billing".
Inquiries under "Account and billing" can be made free of charge.

I think this is because AWS sometimes limits functions and upper limits based on the usage history of the account.
You may see an error like this when you have just created an AWS account.
I have experienced this in the past, but I was able to resolve it by contacting AWS Support.

Hello,

To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps:

  1. Create a new Service quotas Increase Case. Service Limits increase
  2. For "Service", choose "CloudFront Distribution".
  3. For "Quota", choose "Web Distributions per Account".
  4. Write a case description
  5. Wait for a few hours until your request is approved
