Amazon QuickSight - is it possible to fully automate a dashboard creation with AWS SDK

Question

I am trying to automate a QuickSight dashboard creation using the AWS SDK and I need some clarification.

It looks like the create dashboard API requires a template and the [create template API][1] requires an analysis or another template.

In summary, it is not possible to fully automate a dashboard creation because an initial analysis is needed.
Is the above assumption correct?

Yes, you are correct. Currently there are no QuickSight APIs to create initial analysis (or to describe/update etc.,).
