When will 3ds Max 2018 be supported? Also can you please add support for Maya 2018, and also Visual Studio 2017?

Also can you please update the documentation, at the following location and add "3ds Max 2017" and "3ds Max 2018" support to the documentation here: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/lumberyard/latest/userguide/char-model-export-max.html

I believe 3ds Max 2017 is already supported (in v1.8?) and if so, can you please update the lumberyard documentation to reflect that 3ds Max 2014-2017 is currently supported, and please add support for 3ds Max 2018, and Maya 2018, and Visual Studio 2017 (and also update the documentation as well). Thank-you!

This updated at all to 2018 yet? We have 2017 Mudbox, 2018 3ds Max and 2017 Visual Studio but it doesn't appear lumberyard is playing nice with them yet? We utilise these latest updates and will be moving to 2019 in a few months also.

We are keeping our pipeline for software updated but it appears it is lagging a little here :/

Hey @REDACTEDUSER

I totally hear ya - this has been one of the more greatly requested update from the Community and the team is working hard on making improvements to the Engine and its respective tools. I'm sorry for any inconvinences caused by this lag and I've added this to our feedback list as well. I'll update this thread as soon as I can on this topic and news :) Thanks for this perspective!

Yes, I completely agree. It's extremely difficult to develop with Lumberyard, because we keep all of our tools/pipeline updated to the very latest versions of tools (and all our students download and use the very latest versions of the tools) and it's impossible to use Lumberyard, because the tools support is always at least 3-4 years behind. We can't use Visual Studio 2017/2019, or Maya 2018/2019, or 3ds Max 2018/2019.

We've abandoned Lumberyard (last school year), and we're unable to use Lumberyard this year as well, because the development tools/pipeline (for both classes and development) are not currently being supported in the latest Lumberyard.

Students are unable to install Lumberyard (or get it working) with the latest tools, and therefore we'd had to abandon Lumberyard.

I do hope that this is something that can get addressed IMMEDIATELY, and I do hope that Amazon can take this "seriously" and possibly add 3 or 4 extra Devs to the Lumberyard team that will focus 100% ONLY on adding support for the latest Visual Studio 2017/2019, Maya 2017/2018/2019, and 3ds Max 2017/2018/2019 and Mudbox 2017/2018/2019 The latest dev tools are already out, but Lumberyard is at least 4+ years behind in supporting these latest development tools. Please get this fixed. Thank-you!

2+ years have already passed, and this still hasn't been done.

The "SDK" support for Lumberyard is terrible. Lumberyard uses 2-4 year old SDK's, and the Lumberyard Development Team doesn't seem to listen (or care) and we've asked REPEATEDLY to please just take 5 minutes of your time, and update the "Lumberyard Setup Assistant" to include the latest versions of the SDK's.

The latest dev tools are already out (from 3rd party vendors), but Lumberyard is at least 4+ years behind in supporting these latest development tools. Please get this fixed. Thank-you!

I do hope that this is something that can get addressed IMMEDIATELY, and I do hope that Amazon Lumberyard Dev Team can take this "seriously" and possibly add 3 or 4 extra Devs to the Lumberyard team that will focus 100% ONLY on adding support for the latest SDK's and the latest Development Tools: Visual Studio 2017/2019, Maya 2017/2018/2019, and 3ds Max 2017/2018/2019 and Mudbox 2017/2018/2019 development tools to the "Lumberyard Setup Assistant". The latest dev tools are already out (for several years now), but Lumberyard is at least 3 - 4+ years behind in supporting these latest development tools (and third-party SDKs) in the Lumberyard Setup Assistant.

Also as @REDACTEDUSER

Please ask the Lumberyard Devs to take the time to update the "Lumberyard Setup Assistant" to include Visual Studio 2017/2019, Maya 2017/2018/2019, and 3ds Max 2017/2018/2019 and Mudbox 2017/2018/2019 development tools/SDKs to the "Lumberyard Setup Assistant".

Please get this fixed. Thank-you!
