Constant 504 Errors for WP Site

0

Hi, my site has a regular 504 error, caused when I overload the wordpress dashboard (Either clicking through things too quickly, uploading media, or requesting it to save blogs too quickly etc.). Sometimes, this 504 error still occurs regardless of lack of messing around.

I've so far tested by checking if it's our WP theme, WP plugins/other 'surface level' stuff causing the issue, but it still persists. On the backend, in AWS, the instance is said to be running despite the error (And 504 errors are still being logged) so would appreciate suggestions on fixing this. Thx!

Hello,

Can you please share details, what is your instance type ? , it is possible that the instance resources are highly used and hence the instance is not able to respond most of the time. Check how your Instance is performing using monitoring tab, and You could try changing the current Instance type to higher instance in case if you think the instance is being highly utilized.

  • Hi Venkatesh, thanks for your answer. Our instance type is t2.micro, so it's possible that we're overloading whenever we perform the above activities (Though our traffic is small generally.)
