io2 Block Express volumes are supported with C6in, C7g, M6in, M6idn, R5b, R6in, R6idn, Trn1, X2idn, and X2iedn instances.

You can attach an io2 EBS volume to t4g, however you will not get the full features of the EBS volume on instance types that do not fully support BX as mentioned in the previous answer.
