Connecting a Domain Name to Lightsail Instance

0

Hello all!

Our domain, xxxxx.org, is registered with Network Solutions. From there, our domain is pointed to our network for Active Directory purposes. We have subdomains; vpn.xxxxx.org is pointed to an IP Address for Meraki ClientVPN access, employees.xxxxx.org is pointed to an IP Address for our Employee Portal, webapps.xxxxx.org is pointed to an IP Address for a web applications we have running in our DMZ.

I would like to point websites.xxxxx.org to my LightSail Instance. My assumption would be to point websites.xxxxx.org to my instance's Public IP Address (3.17.xxx.xxx). This was done yesterday via an A Record around 1pm EST.

I also created a Global DNS Zone (on the LightSail Instance). The zone was created with the xxxxx.org domain. Within the zone, I added an A Record for subdomain websites.xxxxx.org and pointed it to the Public IP Address (stated as xxxxxweb_01_staticIP within the system).

When I go to websites.xxxxx.org, nothing pops up. I'm taking to a "Site Can't Be Reached" page (DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN).

What am I missing or where did I go wrong?

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
-C

Disregard... I forgot to update MY OWN DNS server to point websites.xxxxx.org to the Instance IP.
