Lambda Memory Quota Inconsistent in São Paulo region

0

Hi,

I had deployed a Lambda function in the São Paulo region with 2500 MB of memory. I wanted to increase the allocated memory to 3500 MB through the Console, but received a quota error: 'MemorySize' value failed to satisfy constraint: Member must have value less than or equal to 3008.

I understand that 3008 MB used to be the memory quota, but the documentation lists the memory quota as "128 MB to 10,240 MB, in 1-MB increments", independently of region as far as I can tell, and the Service Quota Dashboard in the São Paulo region lists "Function memory maximum" as "10,240 megabytes" as well under "AWS default quota value".

Is there a way to enable the higher memory quota of 10,240 MB?

Thank you.

Please raise a ticket with the support team if you require higher memory support in Lambda.

  • I tried to do sit through the Support Center, but the option to request memory support increases does not seem to be there. The options I get for the "Lambda" type of request are "Concurrent Requests", "Elastic network interfaces per VPC" and "Function and layer storage". The documentation also says that the memory limit can't be changed.

  • Raise the ticket against "Function and layer storage". It'll get routed appropriately.
