mturk sandbox creates project, but production environment does not

0

I am new to mturk and I have been following the documentation for using the API to create HITs. I created a HITType and a group of HITs using the API with the sandbox. This created a project which I could view and interact with in the Sandbox, and I could retrieve results via the API and everything worked as expected.

I then moved from the sandbox API endpoint to the production API endpoint, and expected the same behaviour (ie that it would create a project.) However when I log in as a requestor, I cannot see any sign of the HITs I created, and I cannot see a new project. If I try to create a project, it expects me to provide a CSV file and not the HITs that I have already created via the API. How do I get a project with the HITs I created, so that I can make it available to workers? Can I create a new project based on the HITType I created when I created my HITs?

I create HITs via the API in production, but I don't think I ever see them using the mturk UI. I have to use the API to see the status of submitted assignments.

Thanks for the reply, that's helped me understand how it works. Overnight, all of my HITs reached their maximum assignments. I was expecting an immediate confirmation that the HITs were created on the UI, and found it alarming that there was no confirmation. In the end, the HITs reached the workers and got the assignments. I'm currently downloading the results via the API.
