Maybe, you have resources still running in your AWS account which is incurring the charges. Until you delete all the resources, the account cannot be closed. Check your bill and see what exactly the charges are. Since you already asked AWS to close your account - maybe ask them again, they might help lower or remove the charges.
Hello,
I understand the concern this can cause and want to help guide you to get to the bottom of this. Please carefully look into the guidance provided in this article, and take any relevant actions: https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/potential-account-compromise
Reach out to AWS Support to confirm if further action is needed, by replying to the related case, or opening a new case in your Support Center: go.aws/support-center.
If you're unable to sign into your account, please reach out using this contact form: go.aws/account-support
I recommend refraining from creating additional cases to prevent any confusion or delay in receiving assistance. They will also be able to assist with any account or billing questions you may have.
As we take security very seriously, this process may take some time to investigate and resolve. Your patience is appreciated while our agents look into your case.
Best regards,
