1. Check Your Free Tier Usage

AWS offers a free tier for many services, but it has limitations. If you exceed these limits, you may incur charges. You can review your free tier usage in the Billing Dashboard:

Go to the AWS Billing Dashboard.

Select Bills and check the services you were charged for.

Verify if you exceeded the free tier limits.

2. Open a Support Case

You can contact AWS Support to explain your situation. AWS is generally supportive of students and learning users and may waive the charges as a one-time exception.

Here’s how to open a billing support case:

Go to the AWS Support Center: https://aws.amazon.com/support Click on Create Case.

Select Account and Billing Support.

Describe your situation and explain that you are a student using AWS for learning purposes and that you cannot afford the charges.

3. Enable Billing Alerts

To prevent unexpected charges in the future, set up billing alerts:

Go to the AWS Billing Dashboard.

Select Billing preferences.

Enable Receive Free Tier Usage Alerts.

You can also set a custom Budget in the Budgets section of the dashboard to get notified when you’re approaching a limit.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about this!

I'd recommend connecting with our Billing team for further help, by creating a support case, here. They have the proper tools and visibility to look into it with you.
