Website is down after resetting my RDS master password

I reset my master password and my website is now down. Could there be a loss of connection between the RDS DB and my ec2 instance? What would be the cause of the whole site to go down from just resetting the password?

Hello.
Have you changed the database credentials set in the application?
Also, if the application has a mechanism in place to cache authentication information, the cache may prevent access.
So, if caching is supported, restarting the application or EC2 may solve the problem.
