Issue with QuickSight service role

0

In QuickSight, when accessing:

Manage account → AWS resources

I receive the following error:

"Something went wrong. For more information see Set IAM policy"

I already tried all the permissions suggested in the AWS documentation below, but none of them resolved the issue:

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/quick/latest/userguide/iam-policy-examples.html https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/quicksight-permission-errors

As part of troubleshooting, I also tried a solution that worked for me in the past: deleting the QuickSight service role aws-quicksight-service-role-v0 and letting QuickSight recreate it automatically when reopening the AWS resources page.

However, this time QuickSight is not recreating the role anymore.

Additional details:

  • IAM user has AdministratorAccess
  • No IAM API calls appear in CloudTrail when clicking the AWS resources page
  • Region: eu-west-2

Has anyone experienced this issue recently or found a workaround?

Hello.

I believe the solution is to delete the QuickSights service role and all associated IAM resources, as described in the instructions in the documentation you have already referenced.
For events related to IAM resources, CloudTrail logs to us-east-1, so you can check there to see if there were any problems creating the IAM resource.
