Can S3 object versioning recover data deleted before it was enabled?

S3 Bucket Versioning Can S3 object versioning recover data deleted before it was enabled? I enabled versioning on my S3 bucket this morning, but I’m wondering if I can recover a file that was accidentally deleted yesterday, before versioning was turned on. Does AWS keep any shadow copies or backups, or is that object gone for good?

Afraid you cant. Versioning only works from the point you switch it on! Its gone for good unless you have versioning or AWS Backup
