PLEASE help me break into AWS, career path?

0

Hey all, hope this is the right place..

I want to get into AWS Cloud Security, I am having a tough time planning my cert path. I am currently an OSP Engineer, designing FTTH networks and am looking to switch.

I am currently working on Network+, then planned Security+, before ending up working on AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate Certification SAA-C03. Does this path make sense? Can anyone help me out so I am not wasting time?

Thanks so much, hope this is in the right place!!

This official certification paths guide suggests that for your career goal as a Cloud Security Architect, you should go for CLF-C02 first, then SAA-C03, SCS-C02, and preferably SAP-C02.

Moreover, since specialty level or professional level exams are expensive (e.g., $300 for SCS-C02, ANS-C01, SAP-C02), it is recommended to go for cheaper foundational or associate level exams (e.g., $100 for CLF-C02) to receive a 50% discount coupon, then go for the more expensive ones so that you can save your exam fees.

  • Should I continue with my Network+ and Security+ first?

  • Yes, you can go for them first, if you feel more comfortable for that. The certification path is merely a suggestion for beginners without special skills, so the foundational ones comes first and professional comes last. Very few novices will start from ANS-C01 or SCS-C02 because they are so tough to get started, but the order is not really important as long as you don't feel overwhelming for that cert.
