Instead of doing an OS Reboot, you need to stop start the instance from the AWS console. The maintenance is likely to move you off of hardware that needs attention, the only way to do that is with a start/stop from the console or CLI/API.

Thanks. If we wait for the scheduled reboot, the maintenance will move us off of the hardware, but we can keep the public auto-assigned ip address. However it will be changed if we start/stop the instance from the console. No other way to keep the public auto-assigned ip address?
