Create g4dn.xlarge failed with 8 applied quota value - vCPU limit of 0

0

Hi,

I am trying to create stack with g4dn.xlarge instance but failed: You have requested more vCPU capacity than your current vCPU limit of 0 allows for the instance bucket that the specified instance type belongs to.

But on the service quota page it indicates that I have 8 applied quota value for All G and VT Spot Instance Requests. No other instances are running with this type. Anything wrong with my account?

Hello.

AWS imposes certain limits on the usage of resources per your AWS account, including a limit on the number of vCPUs (virtual CPUs) you can use with EC2 instances. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/general/latest/gr/ec2-service.html#:~:text=Maximum%20number%20of-,vCPUs,-assigned%20to%20the%20Running%20On%2DDemand%20DL

  • yeah I know there is a limit but you can see in my screenshot the quota is set to 8 so I should have enough limit

Your screen shot "All G and VT Spot Instance Requests" is for Spot instances. You need to check and adjust quota for Running On-Demand G and VT instances

So do you increase the limit after the template fails? If it`s possible you can delete the stack and deploy a new one.
