why the sample function is so slow in neptune?

0

I want to get 100 samples in a list which contains about 560000 elements using gremlin_python from neptune. But it won't return the result to me in 2 minutes and I will get timeout exception. It's obvious that such operation is very fast in python. So I'm wondering why it's so slow in neptune? Enter image description here

  • In general the Apache TinkerPop Gremlin sample step tends to not be very efficient with very large datasets. However I would have expected it to work OK across 560K elements. What size of Neptune instance are you using to run these tests?
