AWS Support not responding on suspended account

0

I had an AWS account. It was suspended, and I reached out to support. It has been three working days, yet there has been no response so far. The I had there in S3 is critical to re.cover. Is this common? How long does this usually take?

It's understandable that you're concerned about your suspended AWS account and the lack of response from support, especially given the critical nature of your S3 data. While delays can occur, three working days without a response is longer than typical.

Account suspensions often require manual intervention from AWS Support, which can take time. However, the usual expectation is to receive an initial response within 24-48 hours, even for lower-tier support plans.

To address this situation:

  1. Check all email addresses associated with your AWS account, including spam folders, for any communications from AWS. They may have sent additional information or requests.

  2. If you haven't already, open a support case under the "Account and billing" category, which is available even for suspended accounts. Clearly explain your situation, including the length of time you've been waiting.

  3. If you've already opened a case, update it to request a status update. Mention the critical nature of your S3 data and the impact on your operations.

  4. Ensure all your contact information in the AWS account is up-to-date.

  5. If you have an AWS Account Manager or are working with an AWS Partner, reach out to them for assistance in escalating the issue internally.

While waiting, it's important to be patient but persistent. Continue to engage with AWS Support through your open case, as they are the primary channel for resolving this issue. If the delay becomes excessive, consider mentioning in your case update that this is severely impacting your operations.

For future reference, to avoid similar situations, keep payment methods up-to-date, monitor billing notifications closely, and consider upgrading your support plan for faster response times if your use case requires it.

Remember, while the wait is frustrating, AWS Support needs to thoroughly investigate and verify the situation before lifting restrictions to ensure the security of your account. However, three working days without any response is unusual, and it's reasonable to request an update at this point.
