HEVC H.265 Outputs

Question

Hi   
I want to create my livestream outputs to mediastore in H.265 format.  
  
What bit rates do you advise for 1080p 720p and Sd .  
  
I want to reduce data costs for amazon cloud front.  
  
In AVC 1080p cbr is around 5Mbs.  
  
To get the same quality is really 2.5mbs enough which will reduce cdn costs by 50%.  
  
QVR or CBR which one works best

Thank you for reaching out on the AWS Elemental MediaLive forums with this question.  For this particular instance I would suggest the following bitrates to start:  
  
1080p - 3Mbs  
720p - 2.5Mbs  
SD - 1MBs  
  
You can fine tune the bitrate based on the quality of the output from here.  When it comes to Rate Control Mode I would suggest QVBR as long as the downstream devices support it, if not then CBR.
