Scheduled maintenance for Amazon Lightsail instances on Thu, 14 Nov 2024 02:00:00 GMT

Hello,

My client has received this email today regarding the "Scheduled maintenance for Amazon Lightsail instances on Thu, 14 Nov 2024 02:00:00 GMT". The instance is "justfresh-debian-wp1".

As you know, the GMT 02 am is NZ time about 3 pm in the afternoon. This scheduled maintenance time is not suitable for the business. Please advise if this time can be changed to NZ time 2 am then that should be fine.

Thanks.

Hi,

If the set maintenance window is inconvenient for your application, the recommended approach is to manually stop and start the instance during off-peak hours before the deadline, which will migrate it to a healthy host, completing the scheduled maintenance. After the instance has been moved to a healthy host, AWS will not perform any further maintenance for that particular event.

Note that stopping and starting an instance is not the same as rebooting. A start operation is required to migrate the instance to healthy hardware.

Also note that the public IP address of the instance will change on every stop and start operation. If you require a static IP address, you can attach one to the instance.

Thanks.

p.s. the previously provided responses by the rePost Agent and a community member were both not accurate.
