EKS can't stop my EC2 instance

0

I cannot stop my EC2 instance i-0b1880b2d396f96b4 due to an explicit deny policy I can't find. Please stop it to prevent unwanted charges. But I am the administrator. How do I stop it without deleting it? Thanks

  1. You can’t stop this EC2 instance because it is managed by EKS. EKS worker nodes cannot be stopped manually, even by an Administrator.

  2. The “explicit deny” is not coming from IAM. It is automatically enforced by EKS and its Auto Scaling Group.

  3. To stop charges, scale the node group to zero: EKS → Cluster → Compute → Node group → set Desired / Min / Max = 0.
