Error when trying to launch new project in editor on Lumberyard 1.25

0

I just installed lumberyard and when into the project configuration and created a new project (Requiem) and that screen showed me that it built the project and everything; however, when I go into the editor, I get an error from the Asset Processor, picture of the error message is below. I have noticed that in the Bin64vc142 there is no Gem.Requiem.something.dll file either. So it looks to be that Gem was not compiled and could not find a way to manually compile that Gem like with VS2019 or command line

I just tested this, at least with 1.25 you should be able to build from command line and it should build what is necessary in minutes instead of taking 2 hours to build everything.

Run these commands in your dev directory from command line.

Configure the project: lmbr_waf configure

Build all for VS2019: lmbr_waf build_win_x64_vs2019_profile -p all --progress

Have you run Setup Assistant and made sure you have all the requirements? This looks like it's having trouble finding Qt.

There's a good, current set of installation instructions here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lumberyard/latest/welcomeguide/wg-setup-intro.html Particularly this page for Setup Assistant. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lumberyard/latest/welcomeguide/wg-setup-assistant.html

Make sure you have green checks for everything on the Install Required SDKs page. Also important to make sure the Path at the top of the Required SDKs page correctly points to your third party folder. If you are coming from an older version of Lumberyard, it's possible that Qt was upgraded and needs to be re-downloaded.

Yes I did for the items that I had checked. I did some digging and the command "lmbr_waf build_win_x64_vs2019_profile -p all --progress" required the Qt framework is only copied when you have selected "compile the engine and asset pipeline" which I did not select.

Ahh, sorry, I should have thought of that. Glad you worked it out!
