I would like to use wire transfer as a payment method, but I can't find the wire transfer option. What conditions need to be met to use wire transfer as a payment method?

To add wire transfer as a payment method in AWS, you can do so through the Advance Pay feature in the AWS Billing and Cost Management console. Here's how:

  1. Open the AWS Billing and Cost Management console
  2. In the navigation pane, choose "Payments"
  3. Choose the "Advance Pay" tab
  4. Choose "Add funds"
  5. Under "Amount", enter the fund amount you want to add (must be in US dollars)
  6. Under "Payment method", choose "Choose payment method"
  7. Select "Wire transfer"
  8. Choose "Use this payment method"
  9. Review the payment details and choose "Verify"
  10. Complete your electronic funds transfer using the instructions provided in the Payment summary section

Regarding conditions for using wire transfer, there are some important eligibility requirements:

  • Advance Pay (which enables wire transfer as a payment method) is only available if your seller of record is AWS Inc. (USD only) or AWS Europe (USD, EUR, or GBP)
  • This feature is not available for member accounts in AWS GovCloud (US)
  • It's not available for certain services
  • Additional eligibility requirements may apply

If you're looking to make a one-time wire transfer payment for an existing invoice, you would contact your bank directly to initiate the wire transfer using the AWS bank details found on your invoice, rather than adding it as an ongoing payment method.
