They use Dell Wyse thin clients and wanted to know if they would be able to access AppStream 2.0 instances with these devices.
Dell Wyse thin clients will work, provided they have an HTML5-compliant browser on them, which almost all of them support FireFox (or some branded version of it). However, your subject line says PCoIP zero client/P25 Compatibility which is a zero client that only supports PCoIP as the streaming protocol. AppStream 2.0 does not use PCoIP nor does it support zero clients. Amazon WorkSpaces, however, does support zero clients. If the customer needs/wants a persistent desktop offering for their zero clients, this can be a viable offering.
From AWS documentation, AppStream 2.0 will work with IGEL-compliant thin clients.
There is no such thing as "IGEL-compliant" thin client - IGEL is a vendor of thin client hardware/OS similar to Dell Wyse, HP, and others. Where in the docs do you see this? We most likely need to get it updated.
need a definitive answer for existing thin clients support.
AppStream 2.0 has two methods of access: 1/ The HTML5-based web client that works on Chrome, FireFix, Safari, Edge, etc, and 2/ the Windows native client that works on Windows 7 and Windows 10.
Thin clients are generally built on top of some distro of Linux. AppStream 2.0 doesn't have a Linux client, however, almost all thin clients come with a browser. That browser can be used to stream AppStream 2.0.
Zero clients are specific to PCoIP, and only work on VMware Horizon, Amazon WorkSpaces, and Teradici's agent/hardware to an instance.
That said, please reach out to me directly with more information (specifically the customer/size of opp/number of existing zero clients)
