GUI for Linux2 on-premises Hyper-V instance

0

Hi all,

I've just started working with AmazonLinux2 and want to use my normal developer tools like kdevelop and other GUI tools. I have been able to create a Hyper-V VM with AmazonLinux2 on my local machine but it seems to be command-line only. Can I run a GUI such as the one used in Ubuntu? If so, how can I set this up?

Thanks.

Hi @technovelist By default Amazon Linux 2 is just a CLI version since we don't have GUIs on Linux EC2 instance, We don't have repos setup for X display on Amazon Linux 2, but you may be able to leverage this article to help https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/ec2-linux-2-install-gui/ You may need to add custom repos if you really need a GUI.
