AWS Backup job for S3 continuous recovery point is failed

0

I have a Daily and a Weekly backup plans (provisioned via AWS Organization Backup policy) to maintain the resources backup. Both Daily and Weekly plans have the "enable_continuous_backup" enable for continuous backup.

The Daily plan is working fine and created continuous backup for the S3 buckets. However the weekly plan backup job was failed, and getting the following error message: "Bucket <bucket-name> already has continuous backup enabled for another vault The backup job failed to create a recovery point for your resource <bucket-name> due to missing permissions on role <role arn>"

The role permissions should be working, as the Daily plan is using the same role.

Is this error means we cannot have more than 1 continuous backups(PITR) created in different Vault?

Hello.
As described in the following document, when setting up Continuous backups, please use a single backup plan.
I don't think it is possible to set up Continuous backups with multiple backup plans.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/aws-backup/latest/devguide/s3-backups.html

Continuous backups allow you to restore to any point in time within the last 35 days. Continuous backups for an S3 bucket should only be configured in one backup plan.

See Point-in-Time Recovery for a list of supported services and instructions on how to use AWS Backup to take continuous backups.
