Lightsail quotas are all "Not available" and I cannot request more.

When I go to Service Quotas > Lightsail, all "Applied account-level quota values" are set to "Not available". I would like to be able to set those to the default values, but I see no way to set to default or request more. How can I do this? I've looked at https://docs.aws.amazon.com/servicequotas/latest/userguide/request-quota-increase.html and it was not helpful. See image:

I am attempting to create a Lightsail Container Service in CLI but I get "Sorry, you've either reached or will exceed your maximum limit of Lightsail Container Service", which prompted me to this. Sorry if I am missing something obvious, I am new to this.

Hello.

Lightsail container quotas cannot be increased.
Requests other than those for which the "Adjustable" column is set to "Yes" in the table in the document below cannot be applied for on the service quota console.
If your AWS account is relatively new, your quotas may be set lower than the default quota numbers.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/general/latest/gr/lightsail.html

New AWS accounts might start with quotas that are lower than those described here.

In this case, you cannot apply through service quotas, so you will need to open a case with AWS Support under "Account and billing".
Inquiries under "Account and billing" can be made free of charge.

  • Hi, thanks for your help! To confirm my understanding, if I want to create a container service I have to pay for it?

  • I think there is a fee just for creating the service. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lightsail/latest/userguide/amazon-lightsail-container-services.html#container-services-pricing

The monthly price of your container service is calculated by multiplying the price of its power with the number of its compute nodes (the scale of your service). For example, a service with a medium power, which has a price of $40 USD, and a scale of 3 compute nodes, will cost $120 USD per month. You are charged for your container service whether it's enabled or disabled, and whether it has a deployment or not. You must delete your container service to stop being charged for it.

Each container service, regardless of its configured capacity, includes a monthly data transfer quota of 500 GB. The data transfer quota does not change regardless of the power and scale that you choose for your service. Data transfer out to the internet in excess of the quota will result in an overage charge that varies by AWS Region and starts at $0.09 USD per GB. Data transfer in from the internet in excess of the quota does not incur an overage charge. For more information, see the Lightsail pricing page.

  • Thank you!

  • There is a free trial available for trying Container Service on new Lightsail accounts. . refer - https://aws.amazon.com/lightsail/pricing/ Three months free on the $10 USD/month Container service (Micro,1 node)

Hi,

Your actual quota can be less than the AWS default quota if you are a new customer or use your account minimally. If that is the case, you can create a support case under Account & Billing category requesting a higher quota for Lightsail container service and we would be happy to review it. Be sure to mention the container service power (micro, small, medium etc) and number of nodes you need.

Thanks.
