When a dedicated host is released on AWS, it usually takes a few minutes to complete the deletion process. However, the exact time it takes to delete the dedicated host may vary depending on factors such as the size of the host, the amount of data stored on it, and the number of running instances that need to be terminated. Hence, I cannot give you an exact amount of time.
Typically, once you release a dedicated host, you should see a status update on the AWS console, indicating that the host is being released. Once the release process is complete, the host and its associated resources should disappear from the dashboard.
Additionally, it's worth noting that AWS may continue to display the host for a short period after the release process is complete, as it may take some time for the dashboard to refresh and update. If you are still seeing the host on the dashboard after several minutes, try refreshing the page or logging out and logging back in to the AWS console.

Gotcha. Thanks! Odd that it would be called "release" and not "delete", and confusing (as per usual) that they would show a state of "released" instead of the correct "releasing"
