Thank you for contacting AWS. I understand that you want to know different customisations which we can make to Quicksight Q search bar when embedding into external web pages.

Kindly note, Quicksight Q is a generative BI offering which essentially includes new generative capabilities to help authors quickly build dashboards and reports, readers to summarize dashboards, answer questions of data, and build sharable stories explaining data.

This features use machine learning models that generate probabilistic predictions based on patterns in data, and generate insights and recommendations from your content.

After you subscribe to Q, QuickSight authors can create topics, ask questions, and share topics with QuickSight readers. QuickSight readers can also ask questions using the Q bar.

Q can be added to analysis is a new capability which enables authors to use natural language to describe a visual they want, and then add directly to an existing analysis or dashboard. This speeds creation for common analysis types like bar charts, line graphs, and tables. It also helps authors to create more complex and difficult to achieve results like period over period comparisons. Visuals fit right in, automatically adopting themes in the analysis.

When you embed a Q search bar in your external web applications, essentially the Readers can ask question on the dashboards/ views which are available as part of dashboard.

Currently there are no customisations which are available for Q search bar in terms of the altering the visual aesthetics. However on a Quicksight level, you could customize the Q linked topic which also links the analysis on top of which the dashboards are created.

The Topic level customisations include adding synonyms to your data fields which ensures that the user Natural language Query is able to process accurately and Q determines accurate results. Aside you could also setup custom question of your own on the topic and mark them verified. Additionally you could also review the questions posted to Q by the readers using Q in external application.
