Instrument SSM command run on EC2 with proper X-Ray parent ID of Step Function
I have an API Gateway which starts execution of State Machine and it runs command on EC2 through SSM Automation.
Everything is X-Ray traced and now I wanna add tracing to some python script run through SSM. Is there any way that I can retrieve point that piece of code to SSM in the graph using parent segment ID or something? I was able to pass trace ID but it uses another client and graph looks as follows:
- Newest
- Most votes
- Most comments
Can you try also set the parent segment id for the segment created in Python code?
Pseudo code: child = xray_recorder.begin_segment("python_code",traceid, parent.segment_id)
