  • This is the error message i receive when trying to login under root user Signing in with the root user is disabled for your account. You need to re-enable this feature.

When I try to password recovery this is the other message I receive

Password recovery failed Password recovery is disabled for your AWS account root user. You need to re-enable this feature.

I have gone through those link multiple times and nothing has worked.

I have same issue: "Signing in with the root user is disabled for your account. You need to re-enable this feature.". I have no other IAM users with login enabled. Support is only sending me links to their help, but nothing beyond. Support asks me to login and then make my request, but I cannot login!

I'm effectively locked out of my account which I use for 10 years. If anyone knows how to reach any support technician who can read, understand and resolve the problem, please let me know, at this point I'm lost and frustrated. Thank you.

Hello,

You can disable the centralized root access, after that you can reset password for root user.

For steps, check this documentation: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/id_root-enable-root-access.html This documentation, doesn't provide steps to disable, however, you can do with similar steps.
