Specify AZ in Lightsail Containers?

0

There seems to be no option to specify which AZ a Lightsail container is created.

  1. Does it mean AZ is randomly selected?

  2. If we scale a container service to 2x or 3x, are the additional instances automatically distributed to different AZs?

crsdev,

Thanks for using Lightsail!

Lightsail containers are regional. Their underlying infrastructure are spread across AZs automatically, but it is important to note that AZ spread is best-effort and with a low scale you will not necessarily have AZ redundancy. With higher scale, you will.

Thanks. What is the minimum scale to achieve cross AZ redundancy, 2x instance maybe?

crsdev,

I misspoke slightly in my earlier response. The underlying management layer actually views the AZ spread as a constraint so it is guaranteed that with a scale of 2 or higher you will have redundancy across multiple AZs.
