Have you tried recovering the MFA for the root user using the steps in the document below?

If you are unable to recover your MFA using the steps in the above document, please contact AWS via the URL below.

If you’re unable to log into the root account due to MFA issues, there are two alternative paths:

If the account is part of an AWS Organization
- You can close the account directly from the management (payer) account without needing root login to the member account.

If it’s a standalone AWS account
- Root login is required to close it.
- If the MFA is not working, you must contact AWS Support for a root MFA reset.
- Support will guide you through verification steps (like answering security questions) to reset MFA and regain access.

⚠️ Note: AWS will never bypass root MFA without proper verification, so support is the only path if MFA codes fail.
