Activate Windows Server Migrated From Another Cloud Provider

Question

Hello I am migrating servers from our old cloud provider and noticed one of the Windows servers now needs activation.  I figure this is due to not being able to reach the old cloud provider activation server.  How do I activate this server now on AWS?  I assume I would need a new license from AWS correct?

I figured it out, I had to change the registry value for KeyManagementServiceName to one for microsoft and not the old cloud solution, now it activated.  Thank you.

Answer

You can also use EC2 with a license included, as described in this document.  
It is also possible to bring your existing license to AWS for use.

Basically, if you use an EC2 Windows server with a license included, you should be fine.
