Lightsail instance slows down and website stops responding

0

Hi there,

I have many Lightsail instances for small, low demand websites. I have one though which I setup around 18 months ago. Recently, in the past few months it has been alerting me to the CPUUtilization being too high and it the site fails to respond.

I am able to restart the instance it and then it was fine for a few days more. Now though, it only lasts a matter of minutes. I managed to get in and update Wordpress and plugins. I am not sure how to troubleshoot it further if it is completely non respnsive. Wordfence has now given me any errors either.

Domain: https://cloverleaf3d.xyz/ Instance: 512 MB RAM, 1 vCPU, 20 GB SSD

Monitored Details:

  • MonitoredResourceType: Lightsail/Instance
  • MonitoredResourceName: Cloverleaf3D
  • ComparisonOperator: GreaterThanOrEqualToThreshold
  • Threshold: 5.0 Percent
  • MetricName: CPUUtilization
  • Period: 300 Seconds
  • Statistic: Average

Any help to diagnose would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Lightsail specs are likely to be low and we recommend increasing the specs.
Spec changes can be made by using the methods in the following documents.

Thank you. I honestly think it should be OK as the site is so lightweight and almost no traffic. I think I may have diagnosed a plugin conflict.
