Incorrect Time Zone for Central Mexico, Guadalajara, Monterrey in WorkMail

0

Last year, the Mexican government decreed the elimination of daylight saving time across the country. As a result, the time zone for Central Mexico is now permanently set to UTC-6.

However, it has been noted that, even though users' devices are set to the Mexico City time zone, AWS WorkMail has not yet implemented the necessary update to reflect the change to UTC-6, incorrectly displaying UTC-5 instead. When will the appropriate modification be made to address this issue?

Hi,

As a follow-up the service team has merged the changes for the Mexican DST changes and they should roll out soon.

Kind regards, Robin

  • This issue is still unresolved, do you have an estimate of when it will be resolved?

In the meantime, what is your proposal to be able to use the Monterrey time zone correctly from the applications?

  • Hi, I'm sorry to hear you're still experiencing problem with meetings using the Monterrey timezone. I checked with the team and they confirmed the fixes are deployed and working. In what client and on what OS are you experiencing this problem? -Robin

Hi,

I indeed see that there were changes to the DST for 2023 in Mexico (https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/mexico). I have forwarded the case to the service team to investigate.

Kind regards, Robin
