Stacking of EC2 Saving Plans on the same Instance Familiy

0

Hello all

I have currently on the t3 instance familiy an EC2 3 years saving plan active with an hourly commitment of $2.63800/hour, Utilization 99.97%. Now, I see in the Saving Plan recommondation another EC2 Saving Plan recommondation for the same family and region with a commitment of $0.794/hour.

Question; does this covers the missing peace in the utilization? The more t3 systems we deploy, the higher the commitment shall be? does this means that i have to add every time another EC2 Saving Plan so the growth in deployment can be covered?

Many thanks. Daniel

The new recommendation for a $0.794/hour commitment likely covers the projected or current increase in usage. If you plan to deploy more T3 instances, you should adjust your commitment upwards or purchase additional plans to ensure continued savings. You don't have to add a new plan every time, but revisiting your commitment regularly based on deployment growth is key to maximizing savings

I would also suggest you open a ticket AWS Support team since this has to do with charging and saving plans
