Run RDP Client on MacBook

0

Greetings, I am running a MacBook trying to connect to an AWS Instance that is running, using Microsoft Remote Desktop.

I downloaded the Remote Desktop file, and added it to Microsoft Remote Desktop.

I have installed and launched Microsoft Remote Desktop. I entered the Public DNS that is in the Connect to instance, get an error message.

Any suggestions to resolve this issue is much appreciated.

Thanks Clive

ERROR **We couldn't connect to the remote PC. Make sure the PC is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled.

Error code: 0x204**

  • Hi Indranil, Thanks for your input, just to give some background. I am running on a MacBook, NOT Windows.

I edited the Firewall adding the Microsoft Remote Desktop app Allowing incoming connections I downloaded a RDP file

The Session Manager says that Session Manager is not installed. The AWS documents says "AWS Systems Manager Agent (SSM Agent) is preinstalled". I don't understand why it is not available?? When I try to connect to the AWS Windows instance I get the Error code: 0x204** It is really frustrating

The solution was really simple, the error message sent me down a rabbit hole. I needed to add a RDP Security rule, and it connected.
