Release EIP

0

Hi folks.

I have a case here: Case ID 7965925751, which then migrated to Case ID 57591565428, which has now sent me to you. **Side note: Amazon support has always been great: case **751 has top marks. case 428 has been absolutely frustrating. Such lack of help.

I know that the rDNS functions have been migrated to the self-service console for additions and removals, which is fantastic. Thanks for moving that, makes my life easier.

But I'm trying to release IP 15.222.84.32 and when I do, I see: The address with allocation id [eipalloc-01f70279379a716ef] cannot be released because it is locked to your account. Please contact AWS Support to unlock it.

I’ve removed the rDNS and have updated the record. When I do “nslookup 15.222.84.32” it comes back with ec2-15-222-84-32.ca-central-1.compute.amazonaws.com. When I try to release it from my account I still see: Elastic IP addresses could not be released.
15.222.84.32: The address with allocation id [eipalloc-01f70279379a716ef] cannot be released because it is locked to your account. Please contact AWS Support to unlock it.

Any chance you could remove that lock?
