How to add different AMIs for different CPU architectures to same product listing?

0

I am new to AWS Marketplace. I created my first product listing. The UI asks me to select an architecture (X64 vs. ARM) and then specify an AMI. There was no way I could specify different AMIs for different CPU architectures. Do I need to create a separate product listing for different CPU architectures? This does not sound right since the two AMIs are functionally the same product with all the same product description etc. only differing in the CPU architecture. There ought to be a way to add different AMIs for different CPU architectures to same product listing and maybe I am missing something. Can someone show me how to do it with screenshots? Thanks.

I apologize, but based on the information provided in the available sources, I don't have specific details on how to add different AMIs for different CPU architectures to the same product listing in AWS Marketplace. The sources don't directly address this particular scenario or provide screenshots for the process.

However, I can provide some general information about AMIs in AWS Marketplace that might be helpful:

AWS Marketplace products typically contain one AMI for each AWS Region in which the product is available. These AMIs are generally identical except for their location. When sellers update their products with the latest patches and updates, they may add another set of AMIs to the product.

It's worth noting that AWS Marketplace supports various instance types and architectures. When creating a product, you can specify which EC2 instance types and architectures are supported. This is typically done by editing the AWS CloudFormation template used to define the product.

For example, in the template's 'Mappings' section, you can define the 'AWSInstanceType2Arch' mappings to include only supported EC2 instance types and architectures. Valid architecture values include 'PV64', 'HVM64', and 'HVMG2'.

While this doesn't directly answer your question about adding different AMIs for different CPU architectures to the same product listing, it suggests that AWS Marketplace does have mechanisms to support multiple architectures within a single product.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on how to handle multiple CPU architectures in your product listing, I recommend contacting AWS Marketplace support directly. They should be able to provide you with specific guidance and potentially the screenshots you're looking for to walk you through the process.
