Setting up SSRS in AWS RDS SQL but we don't have an AWS Managed MS AD. Is it possible to use local accounts instead?

Due to current limitations you have to use AWS managed AD for SSRS. Please see the below documentation https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/Appendix.SQLServer.Options.SSRS.html "Instances must use AWS Managed Microsoft AD for SSRS web portal and web server authentication"

The other option is You can deploy SSRS on EC2 .

  • Thanks for your response. You mean if SSRS is installed on a separate EC2 and not on the RDS, we can use our AD and not AWS Managed AD?
