Tag is not showing Cost Explorer after activate in Cost Allocation Tag

Hello, I have created resource group of a cloudformations stack and tag it. After 24 hours it appears in Cost allocation tag, from there I activated it. Now that tag is not showing in cost explorer when I choose TAG. Can anyone guide me through it. Thanks

Hi, AWS resource tagging and cost allocation can be complex, and the behavior may depend on various factors such as the specific service, resource type, and configuration settings. However, ensure that the tag you created is visible in the AWS Tag Editor console. If the tag is not listed there, it might not have been applied correctly or propagated across all services. Also, in the Cost Explorer console, make sure you have selected the correct time range, AWS service, and tag filter options to display the desired cost data with the applied tag.

Hi, it's difficult to diagnose why a tag might not be appearing in the Cost Explorer as expected. Keep in mind that AWS tags are case-sensitive, so ensure you're searching for the tag key and value with the correct casing. Tags are also associated with specific resources, and the Cost Explorer might not be showing data for the resources to which the tag is applied. Also, ensure that your IAM user or role has the necessary permissions to view cost and usage data, including tags, in the Cost Explorer.

If your cost allocation tag is not showing up in Cost Explorer after activation, there are a few things you might want to check:

Tag Activation Timing: After enabling a cost allocation tag in the Billing Console, remember it can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours for it to fully show up in Cost Explorer. If it hasn’t been that long yet, you might just need to give it a bit more time.

Tagged Resources: Make sure that the resources you’ve tagged (like CloudFormation for example ) are ones that AWS supports for cost allocation. Not all resources will show up in Cost Explorer.

Filtering Correctly: Double-check that you’re using the exact tag name when filtering in Cost Explorer. Even a small typo can cause it not to show up.

Billing Permissions: Lastly, it may be important to make sure you have the right permissions to view cost allocation tags. If your account doesn’t have full access to billing info, that might explain why the tags aren’t showing.
