Lightsail Quota Question

0

Greetings from Vancouver Island, I have successfully set up two instances with Lightsail in ca-central-1. One Wordpress and One LAMP (Php 8) instance. They work perfectly. I went to build another LAMP stack instance and got the error message about increasing the quote from 20. I did submit the request but I'm not sure I understand what's going on with respect to the quota being exceeded with just two instances created. Seems odd. And I don't know how much increase to ask for. I asked to go from 20 to 30 thing each existing instance is 10(?) but I don't know and it isn't clear where to find out. The Lightsail quota page lists all the quotas but there isn't anyplace that says what quotas are impacted by what instances.

Anybody know more about this and if my 20 to 30 is the right number to ask for?

Thanks, Rick Segal

Asking for increase from 20 to 30 should not be an issue. Was this setup in the first couple days of a new account?

There are sometimes items that can limit creation of new resources as circuit breaker. Submitting the quota request is the right step to take!

  • I've had the account for years. The documentation says you get twenty instances per region hence my surprise at the request by AWS to suggest I ask for an increase. Thanks for responding.
