AWS Skill Builder services unavailable while in maintenance

4

When are the features like labs going to be available again for use? Labs are one of the key features of the subscription for me and they've been unavailable since last week. Is there an estimated time of completion for the maintenance?

  • I would like an estimated time the labs will be made available. It has been down more than a week. I specifically purchased an individual subscription to access these labs, and they have not been available.

  • Is there any update here? It seems like the maintenance notice is up every time that I visit and over the past few weeks.

  • it has been down more than 10 days without any an estimated time..

  • Although I purchased an annual subscription I can't access labs #3 (Using AWS KMS to Encrypt Secrets in Secrets Manager) and #7 (Incident Response) in the course "Security Engineering in AWS". Would it be possible for AWS to publish a list of all the broken labs so we wouldn't to waste time trying to debug them?

There should always be a compensation for the subscribed users when your services are down.

How will you be charging me for the services that are not available?

I asked support specifically for an ETA on the restoration of availability for builder labs. Here is what I received:

I'm gearing up to take the AWS Developer Associate certification, but am unable to utilize any labs, which are a vital part of this process, due to the ongoing maintenance. So that I can better plan out my learning schedule, can you provide an ETA for when Builder Labs will be out of maintenance mode and available for use?

Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for contacting AWS Training and Certification. Apologies for the inconvenience.

AWS Jams and Self-Paced Labs continue to be under maintenance for individual subscribers. We will provide an update once they are available at skillbuilder.aws. Once they are restored, you may be required to restart the content.

We appreciate your patience as we work through this issue.

  • Thanks @Brian. I got the exact same response a couple days ago. Since the courses are otherwise free, I'm not sure what the subscription provides for if the AWS Jams and Self-Paced Labs aren't available.

The availability of features like labs typically depends on the duration of maintenance or updates being performed by AWS.

You can try checking the AWS Skill Builder status page or contacting AWS Support directly for an estimated time of completion for the maintenance and updates on the service restoration.

  • @Giovanni is there a maintenance schedule posted somewhere?

  • Where can I find the "status page" to which you refer? Thanks.
