In Route 53, I can't select my API Gateway entries

In Route 53, I'm trying to map a record to an API Gateway entry.

So after selecting "Create Record" -> Alias -> Alias to API Gateway API -> Selecting the right region ...

The Choose Endpoint field is empty, just saying "No resources found"

What am I missing ?

You have to register a custom domain name from the API Gateway console for your API prior to defining a DNS entry in route 53.
