If you are using an older version of a DBMS platform, you are likely seeing charges for extended support that went into effect starting on 1 March 2024.

RDS Extended support:

If you have a smaller instance size, the hourly increase for extended support can be a larger portion of the overall costs than those using a larger instance size. If possible, try to upgrade to a later release of the DBSM platform to eliminate the extended support costs.

You need to find out for using cost explorer.

Step 1
go to the cost explorer set as below, you will be able to more details of the cost.

[Dimension] - [Usage type]
[Service] - [Relational Database Service]

Step 2
go to the Bills -> Charges by service -> Service name = Relational Database Service, there are more details of the costs.

Hello.

Could you please show me a detailed image of the invoice?
Have you created an RDS in the wrong region and left it alone?
Also, use Cost Explorer to see detailed prices for RDS and compare them to last month.
