MSSQL Server 2022 support for DMS

3

We recently upgraded SQL Server from 2016 to 2022 and we had DMS tasks with CDC that was using SQL Server as a source. These tasks are now failing and if I point the endpoint to the SQL Server 2016, the DMS tasks succeeds. I have not been able to track the the cause of the issue with cloudwatch logs, does anyone face a similar issue or is there a roadmap to when DMS will support MSSQL Server 2022.

  • What is the result of Test Connection when pointing at 2022? FYI - Docs currently don't list support for 2022

  • Hello "Abarry" Could you please provide your AWS customer name so that we can add your company as an influence for this request?

  • Hello cedhood, my company is SWBC. We are currently doing a lots double hopping to a lower version of MSSQL Sever to get this data into aws.

Checking the following documentation, SQL Server 2022 is not yet supported.
Also, no roadmap has been announced until it is supported.

We have the same problem. We would like to hear if we have any advancements or announcements as to when DMS will support MSSQL Server 2022. This becomes a real bottleneck for our projects and has to be solved immediately.

It seems like SQL Server 2022 is now supported as Source endpoints for data migration https://docs.aws.amazon.com/dms/latest/userguide/CHAP_Introduction.Sources.html
