Storage Gateway for files, SMB Share Size vs Size on Disk

0

Hello

I notice that Size and Size on Disk differs a lot, Is that something to be concerned about?
Size and the size of the bucket match, so it is the Size on disk that is wrong
Size on disk is 1MB even if the file is 1KB

Thanks

The gateway mediates between file operation requests (NFS or SMB) and S3 (Object) storage and may need to occupy larger space on your disk than the individual file sizes. This is especially true in the case of smaller files. So, while the object size in S3 and file size locally match, but you'll observe that it's not always going to be the same as the size occupied in cache. Let me know if this addresses your concern.
